Eighteen years after its inception in 1960, Youth With A Mission (YWAM) founded Pacific & Asia Christian University (PACU). The first campus was launched in 1978 in Kona, Hawaii. PACU was founded by Dr. Loren Cunningham and Dr. Howard V. Malmstadt on the premise that students could be equipped in skills to help them bring the Gospel into the foundational areas of society worldwide. In 1989 the name was changed to University of the Nations, Kona campus (UOFN-KONA).

“To Know God and Make Him Known,” is the motto of YWAM and the heartbeat behind all their schools and ministries.  Whether a student or staff, all YWAMers make intimacy with Jesus the number one thing in their lives. Out of a place of knowing our God, they pursue the fulfillment of the great commission by many different ways of outreach and evangelism.

As YWAM grew in their love of Jesus, they naturally turned to worship, especially through music, as a way of expressing their heart to Him. Elevated Music (EM) was birthed out of a desire to share their musical expression toward Jesus with the Body of Christ. The artists represented by the Elevated Music label are worship leaders and songwriters at UOFN-KONA who express the message of abandonment to Jesus and love for Him through song.

Generally speaking, each Elevated Music artist is on staff at UOFN-KONA as a worship leader. Each is committed to living a life focused on both knowing Jesus and evangelizing His gospel to the world.

We believe many in the Church are hungry for devoted worship that carries the message of divine intimacy, with regard for the urgency of this hour in history. Our prayer is that the music coming out of UOFN-KONA will bless, encourage and stir you to greater love for God and all peoples.

Along with worship albums from UOFN-KONA, Elevated Music is also dedicated to releasing the sound of worship from every nation, tribe, and tongue. EM travels to the most remote locations of the world to capture their sound of praise to our God.

• REDEEM  – Through biblically based teaching, EM teaches all people to embrace who they are as people, which includes their language, culture, and sounds.  This often requires an understanding of redeeming the aspects of oneself and personal culture back to the Lord.
• RESTORE - EM encourages people to restore worship back to Jesus Christ.  we believe through evangelism and teachings, the nations will cast down their idols and turn back their hearts to the one true God.  Our hope is that all will come to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and He will restore them back to Him.
• RENEW - We believe that out of our deep love for God, so comes our expressions of love back to Him.  Therefore, we are dedicated to renewing the hearts of believers in the body of Christ.  Our desire is to release music that will touch the hearts of all believers, bringing a renewed and deeper passion to worship the Lord.
• RECORD & RELEASE - Along with our belief in passionate worship music, is our call to record and release the songs of indigenous people around the world.  We believe this will bring freedom to the body of Christ, releasing individuals into worshiping the Lord with all that they were created to be.

Our hope is that the music released by Elevated Music will bless and encourage you in your walk with the Lord. The revenue generated from each CD and mp3 sale goes to support both the musicians and this ministry.

In addition, our musicians are committed to living faith-based lifestyles and support the vision of expanding the Kingdom of God through music and cultural expression. Elevated Music does not own any of the publishing rights from our songwriters and therefore the income they acquire from sales blesses them directly. For every purchase, EM donates a portion to aiding the non-profit side of their ministry.  Each indigenous worship project is completely funded by EM and no money is made on releasing these cultural sounds.  This is purely a way for EM to help empower the global body of Christ and release the sounds of Heaven here on earth.
